Logandale Life!

We moved to Logandale from the hussle and bussle of busy life in Silicon Valley California in 1999.   Logandale is located in the Moapa Valley which consists of two districts, Logandale and Overton.  It is approximately 60 miles north of Las Vegas and 30 miles south of Mesquite.  Visit the following link to learn more about the Moapa Valley

  History of Moapa Valley

Our Home

We first saw our home on the internet.  It was one of about 5 that we decided to look at on the first house hunting trip.  We saw past the tumbleweeds and junk that was on the property and decided that it was the place for us.  It is situated on 2 1/2 acres of  land, there is over 3100 square feet of living space in the home and it has 14 bearing fruit/nut trees around the house with some pines and poplars on the property .  The back 1/2 acre has two Ostrich pens.  We have pasture land to our south and west which is occupied by cattle and horses.  Our first year was spent clearing the land, painting the inside of the home, getting a garden developed, and having a building built. (Our Home)  This year it is landscaping.

The sun rises and sets no where else like here in the desert.  The stars are bright and beautiful without the lights from a big city.  There are no stop lights in our valley, just a few stop signs.  Most of the people who live here are either retired or work in Las Vegas or Mesquite.  Our neighbors are wonderful people who would do anything for you.  We are about 20 miles from docking our boat at Lake Mead and visiting the Valley of Fire.  We do some RVing and we have a couple of ATVs that we use to explore the valley and the surrounding desert.
