The Kick Press.

Here is a picture of my kick press.  This is a foot operated press.  It has a 1" diameter ram that travels about 2".  The mechanical advantage between the foot pedal and the ram is about 12 to 1.  I figure it will press more than a ton.

The Kick Press.

Here's a close up view of the front. One corner of the bolster is broken but this is not a problem with the small operations I'm doing.

The Kick Press.

Here is a picture of yours truly to show you the relatively small size of the kick press.  Don't be deceived as this small solid cast iron press weighs 225 lbs!

The Kick Press as a Shear

This picture shows the press used as a small metal shear.  The 3" long blade and base plate was fabricated in my shop.

The Kick Press as a Shear

Here I am cutting off small pieces of aluminum for turnout parts.  It cuts well when set up properly.

Here is a pile of aluminum blanks to be processed further using the Kick Press.
