             Plan of the
Gecko Belt & Sandy Flats RR

The total track is about 1980 feet.  The steaming bay is another 20 feet but it is welded bar stock not rail and ties. The top of the map is north.  New additions (in red) will add about 500' of more track and allow opposed running when signals are added .

Blue: Outside loop - about 1530 feet.

Green: Original phase one loop - about 740 feet.

Red: Proposed new siding and spurs.  Pottery Hill is a blind curve and will be double tracked.  This will require a crossover to maintain the 40' minimum curve radius.  The spur to the gravel pits will be raised above ground.

Here's an aerial view of the track from Google Earth.  It is orientated the same as the plan map above.  You can clearly see the big loop called Cactus Carousel  in the lower left and one of the wye's at the top right center.  The big trestle bridge shows up as a dark brown curve in the upper left.  The rest is not so clear, but you can make out all of the track if you compare the photo with the map above.

The track is located in Southern Nevada
about 50 Miles North East of Las Vegas.
